ExperiEssence in Life: Confidently Acknowledging...

I initially wrote and published this blog post several years ago. It was one of the many stops-and-starts I've had working to create opportunities to share a really important message and to help make a difference in the lives of anyone who takes the time to read it:

Everything in life is an experience. It's up to us to determine what kind of experience it will be and what we'll take away from it. Some people seem to innately know this and naturally make the most of every moment and every interaction. Others of us are so "busy" that we often don't notice the significance of each experience and may not even realize until it's too late that we had the opportunity to shape the experience and make an intentional decision about how we respond to it.

Unfortunately for me, I wasn't one of those folks who naturally viewed life as an adventure comprised of a series of experiences. I spent much of my life admiring those to whom, it seemed, everything came so naturally and longed to be more like them. In all that time I never realized that the comparison was unfair and that through this way of thinking, I was creating a life experience for myself of never being good enough. In fact, it took me over 40 years to realize that I had the power to shape the experiences in my life and that I had everything I needed to live a life full of exceptional experiences as well as to influence experiences for others. That incredibly profound realization changed my entire view of my life and of my place in the world, and it dramatically altered how I interact in life.

Experiencing an exceptional life is about confidently and proudly acknowledging who you are - what's special about you - and embracing that uniqueness. It's about claiming your unique place in this world, recognizing where you are and where you want to be, and then living a life comprised of innumerable experiences that manifest that life. There is no comparison and there is no "not good enough." There is only a collective series of individual experiences that each of us has the power to shape to live our best life. Once that realization becomes true for you, it's impossible not to pass it on.

Everything I shared in this original blog post still holds true, but what's missing is a celebration of the foundational premise that makes it meaningful…Confident Acknowledgments. This blog, along with a book that will be published later this year, is dedicated to celebrating the benefits of Confident Acknowledgements and the resulting swell of satisfaction and success that follow!
